Dr. McDiarmid is a Professor of Pediatrics and Surgery, and Director of the Pediatric Liver Transplant Program at University of California, Los Angeles. She is also the Director of the Pediatric Liver Transplant Program at UCLA-Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. McDiarmid is a member of several professional organizations including the American Society of Transplantation the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN). In 1992 she was involved with the Executive Organizing Committee for the Transplant Games.
