Dr. Mark L. Barr is Associate Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery
with tenure at the University of Southern California School of Medicine
and Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles where he is the co-director of cardiothoracic
transplantation and associate director of cardiothoracic surgical research.
He currently serves as the Chair of the Thoracic Committee of the American
Society of Transplant Surgeons and the Chair of the Scientific Grants
and Awards Committee of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation.
He is past Program Chair for the Annual Scientific Meeting of both the
International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation and the American
Transplant Congress. He is on the advisory board for the FDA in the Center
for Devices section and is a member of the National Center for Research
Resources Review Committee at the NIH.
