STAC: Eric A. Engels, MD, MPH (Ex-Officio Member)
Dr. Engels is currently an Investigator at the Viral Epidemiology Branch,
Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics, at the National Cancer Institute
in Rockville, Maryland. He is also an adjunct Associate Professor at the George
Washington University School of Public Health and an adjunct Assistant
Professor at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Engels serves on the editorial board
for Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers and Prevention. Additionally, he chairs the
Working Group on Chronic Infections, Inflammation, and Immunity, International
Lung Cancer Case-Control Study Consortium. As a physician, he is board
certified in Infectious Diseases. His research interests include cancers
arising in HIV-infected individuals and transplant recipients, non-Hodgkin
lymphoma, and lung cancer.
