Dr. Mark L. Barr is Associate Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery with tenure at the University of Southern California and Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles where he is the co-director of cardiothoracic transplantation and associate director of cardiothoracic surgical research. He is the current President of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation and serves as the Chair of the Thoracic Committee of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons and the Chair of the Scientific Grants and Awards Committee of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation. He is a Deputy Editor of the American Journal of Transplantation. He is on the advisory board for the FDA in the Center for Devices section and is a member of the National Center for Research Resources Review Committee at the NIH.
